Sterile Cotton Features
The use of sterile cotton was made necessary by the professional level of ant keeping. In normal (even cosmetic) cotton, various fungi and microbial spores may be present, which, when colonised in a closed system (e.g. test tube), can rapidly grow and multiply under the influence of moisture, which can attack ant colonies and cause their death.
An even more perfect substrate for them is to feed the colonies with sugar when they are fed. In fact, in the case of normal cotton, it is not always known what has been used to bleach them. Bleaching agents can also damage the health of the colony.
Properties of the Sterile Cotton:
- Made of raw cotton material
- Not used chlorine to be bleached
- Does not contain optical bleach agents
- Sterilised, virus, bacteria, fungus, microbe free*
* Sterilisation is carried out by the hospital in Mohács Hungary in an autoclave with steam, we can send a certificate if it is needed.
See how it looks in some videos on our TikTok channel.
